Property Description
This over 100 years old historic building is situated in a residential neighbourhood of central Oradea, in the proximity of the Hungarian border. The five well-lit larger and one smaller rooms, two bathrooms and two kitchens (one in the basement), represent about 350m2 of living space. The accompanying terrace overlooks the large garden and represents an ideal dining place during summer. In the garden there is also a garage that doubles as a shed. The loft is underused, but with investment could be transformed into a large built-in attic (an over 100m2 possible extension of the living space).
The house is situated close (~500m) to the central pedestrian shopping area (famous for its secessionist buildings), and to one of the main city parks on the bank of the river Crisul.
Oradea is an ethnically diverse city with rich cultural life, large parks and numerous historic sights. It has been an important border settlements of the historic Transylvania (the large medieval fortress in the middle of the city being one of its highlights), later becoming one of the most important towns of the Austro-Hungarian empire (the secessionist city centre was built during this era). Nowadays it is the most important commercial and industrial hub of North-Western Romania, situated close (~8km) to the Hungarian border. The city is also within driving distance (~2h) to the slopes and breathtaking hiking trails of the Western Carpathians.
