The master suite occupies the top floor with breathtaking views over the entire bay where you can see the sunken ancient harbour of Paleopolis. Both bedrooms are ensuite, the master with a standalone bath and waterfall taps. The master bedroom has a dressing room, antique Belgium wood burning stove and French doors lead off to two balconies. One has a small siesta bad which is in shade by early afternoon whilst the front private balcony monopolises on the views; we place a bed here most of the summer.

Moving downstairs , we have retained the ancient fireplace and long stone ceiling in the guest bedroom and placed old cement tiles in the floor. There is an ensuite wet room with plexiglas ceiling and Moroccan sink. The guest room has its own entrance that leads onto the balcony that leads round the whole house. This balcony can also be reached from the antique French doors in the drawing room and the kitchen/front door. The drawing room has a large fireplace and views on three sides.

The kitchen is the heart of this house with antique marble slabs from a village in Kefalonia that we had laid and have been in love with everyday since. Concrete worktops sit alongside ancient marble sinks. A large airy space that is very inviting, 5.15 x 6.5M.

Tucked into the mountain with a waterfall above, the untouched mountain water is channelled into our plunge pool and then used for all areas of the house except drinking, it then makes its organised way to irrigate the garden and land. Two solar water heating panels mean that we have only used electricity to heat our water a handful of times.

The garden is mature and established and very low maintenance. The terraces have many areas with shaded seating or dining areas, including an ancient marble table under a blooming wisteria and the top floor large balcony that has an outdoor/summer kitchen with mesmerising sunsets.

There are a further two toilets throughout the house and three generous garden buildings in the grounds and exciting opportunities to develop 225 m² / 2422 ft² of land.
