A lovely quiet ground floor apartment with white beams inside a beautiful listed 18th century manor in medieval Bayeux, Normandy, France – ideal as a touring base.There is an open air market every Saturday around the corner.
RELAXING
In the evening there is hardly a sound, and yet shops, restaurants and the Bayeux cathedral are minutes walk away. The living room has a comfy sofa, an armchair and a single bed on a raised area in Moroccan style - which can be used for a second person to sleep on if necessary.
It would be greatly appreciated if guests would kindly leave their shoes in the apartment's own hallway to protect the carpets.
GARDEN
The huge front walled courtyard has conical shrubs and a 18th century layout. A vast walled rear garden (communal but rarely used) is seconds from the apartment door - two deckchairs are provided.
COMMUNICATIONS:
There is wifi internet connection in the apt. Mobile phone signals are usually very good inside the apt. There are internet cafes in Caen and one in Bayeux not far from the apartment (Salon de thé on Rue des Cuisiniers.) International newspapers are on sale minutes away in Bayeux at the main newsagents / stationers, down Rue St Malo, a few minutes walk.
The apt is low tech: no TV or video games. No washing machine or dishwasher.
There are two Laundromats very close by.
